I am sitting here doing everything possible to avoid writing my two term papers. Don't misunderstand, I love writing and under normal circumstances can whip out a paper in no time. But these are not normal circumstances, nor is it a normal topic: Carolingian and Ottonian Manuscripts and Architecture.
wow.
I must admit I had no clue what this class was about when I signed up for it; all I knew was it was available, fit in my schedule, and the professor was awesome. All true. However, I don't care to learn this subject...I really have no interest. None. I promise. It's become frustrating trying to force myself to learn and study when I have no interest or desire to do so.
So, in the end, I am wishing I didn't have to do these papers even though I know I must. Of course, I've now put them off to the last possible moment and now am reaping the "rewards," aka stressing out. So do subjects like this really matter? What possible use could ancient manuscript illumination have today?
